MELBOURNE, Fla. (March 12, 2018) – Senior Bryce Peterson has been named the Sunshine State Conference Baseball Player of the Week, league officials announced. This is Peterson's first career Player of the Week Award.
Peterson led the Tars offensively throughout Baseball Week, and also helped Rollins go a perfect 5-0 during the slate. The Enumclaw, Washington native compiled 10 total hits in the five-game span, including four doubles, two triples, and a home run to go along with 12 RBI. He also scored five runs and earned two walks in the box.
On the season, Peterson is batting an impressive .403 at the plate. The senior has totaled 27 hits so far this campaign, with five doubles, three triples, and seven home runs. His 25 RBI are sixth in the Sunshine State Conference.
Rollins will return to action this Wednesday, March 14, when they host Ave Maria for a midweek clash at Alfond Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
