The Tars will be looking to turn around a six-game skid when they face-off against the No. 12 ranked Florida Southern Mocs. The Tars were outlasted in their last series against Nova Southeastern, dropping game one 11-1, game two 5-2, and the final game 3-0. Rollins currently sits at 16-14 overall this campaign, with a 4-8 SSC mark, which is good for eighth place in the SSC standings. Florida Southern is coming off a sweep over Embry-Riddle in their latest series, outscoring the Eagles 50-13 over three games. The NCBWA has Florida Southern ranked as the thirteenth best team in the nation, with an overall record of 26-4-1 and a 9-3 record in conference matchups.
TRACKING THE TARS:
Offensively, the Tars will be looking hit their mid-season stride. As a team, the Blue and Gold have compiled a .278 batting average, to go along with 286 hits. Seniors Nick Breen, Brian Brooker, and Bryce Peterson continue to pace Rollin offensively. Breen is second on the team with a .343 batting average as well as hits with 37. Peterson leads the team with a .347 batting average, as well as 10 home runs. Brooker ranks third in the SSC with 37 RBI already this season.
On the mound, has been the rotation of Cameron Enck, Brad Case, and Garrett Leonard. Enck currently ranks fifth in the SSC, with 69 strikeouts in 53 innings pitched. Senior Brian Auerbach has notched two saves alrady this campaign.
TRACKING THE MOCS:
The Mocs have won their last four, and will be looking to improve that mark against a talented Tars pitching staff. As a team, the Mocs lead the SSC with a .326 batting average. They alod lead the conference with 293 runs scored and 361 hits. Leading the way for the Mocs is Pablo Cabrera and Dylan Costa. Cabrera has tallied a .346 batting average along with 44 hits, while Dylan Costa has managed a .345 average, and 41 hits this season. Cleaning up the bases for Florida Southern has been Hayden Marze, who has a SSC best 44 RBI and a team leading 14 home runs already this campaign.
Logan Browning and J.T. Hintzen have each tabbed six wins, as well as 59 punch outs apiece from the hill. The Mocs will look to Leo Rodriguez late in the game, as the junior has already picked up five saves.
