SAINT LEO, Fla. (April 14, 2018) – Rollins bats couldn't match Saint Leo Saturday as the Tars dropped both ends of a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader to the Lions, 8-4 and 5-0.
Rollins drops to 16-19 overall and 4-13 in the league while 18th-ranked Leo improves to 28-8, 11-6 SSC.
Cameron Enck took the loss, tossing 4.1 innings and allowing six runs on 12 hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
Chase Turner and Zach Scott both hit 3-4 with Scott knocking in a pair, to lead the Lions. Ryan Nolan was the winner, scattering six hits and three runs, two earned in 5.2 innings pitched.
In the nightcap, the Tars bats went cold and recorded just two hits in the shutout. Nick Breen and Santucci both had base knocks.
Starter Brad Case was saddled with the loss, throwing five innings and allowing four runs on seven hits while fanning six.
Jared Morello and Peyton Isaacson both had two hits for Saint Leo with Turner adding a pair of RBI.
Shane Haight was the winner, surrendering two hits in seven innings with six strikeouts.
The Tars will look to snap out of their current skid with a mid-week, nonconference road trip to Flagler on April 18. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. in St. Augustine.
