The Tars fell to Saint Leo in their latest Sunshine State Conference series in three straight games. Rollins will look to end a 12-game skid, with a midweek contest against the Flagler Saints, and then a three game weekend series against the Barry Buccaneers. Currently, the Tars sit at 16-20 overall, and 4-14 in the SSC, which is good for ninth place in the conference standings.
TRACKING THE TARS:
Rollins will be looking to end a four-straight series losing streak, and to do so they will be looking to veterans Nick Breen, Brian Brooker, and Bryce Peterson. Breen continues to lead the Tars in multiple offensive categories in his final season, including batting average and doubles with 12. Brooker and Peterson have been a two-man clean-up crew for the Tars, combining for 17 home runs and 75 RBI on the year. Junior Brendan Brundage has stepped up as the Tars lead-off man, leading the team with 46 hits.
On the hill for the Blue and Gold has been the rotation of Garrett Leonard, Cameron Enck, and Brad Case. Case has compiled a 2.76 ERA in 12 appearances this season, to go along with 60 strikeouts. Leonard has tossed in 44.1 innings, and tallied a no-hitter, while Enck ranks sixth in the conference, with 74 strikeouts.
TRACKING THE SAINTS:
The Saints dropped their last three games to a No. 13 ranked Georgia College team. Flagler now sits with an overall record of 28-15, and a 15-9 in Peach Belt Conference play. Running the show offensively for the Saints has been Ethan Crout. Crout has already amassed 67 hits to lead the Saints in 43 games of action, his .383 batting average is also a team best. Also pitching in has been Jason Moore, who has generated a team high 55 RBI for the Crimson, as well as 9 home runs.
On the mound, Flagler has four pitchers who have already recorded at least four wins this campaign. Robert Girgis has dished out a team leading 58 strikeouts from the hill in just 56 innings of action. Ethan Jones has totaled five saves, and a team low 2.09 ERA.
TRACKING THE BUCS:
The Bucs will host Palm Beach Atlantic in a non-conference matchup, before welcoming the tars for a three game weekend series. Barry is 16-21 overall, with a 3-15 conference mark, including their latest win over Florida Memorial, 8-5. Leading the Bucs offensively is Andrew Rapoza, and Johnathan Quintana. The duo is tied for the team lead in hits, with 48 a piece, while Quintana also leads the team with 41 RBI this campaign.
On the hill, Barry has really utilized the depth of their bullpen, with four different Bucs recording at least six starts this year. Johnathan Hernandez is first on the team with 42 punch outs registered, while sophomore Pablo Arevalo has racked up 37 strikeouts in 40.1 innings tossed. Armando Gonzalez has recorded the lone save for the Bucs this season.
