WINTER PARK, FLA. ( February 15, 2019)- The Tars started the weekend off on the right foot with a dominating 13-5 win over Bentley on Saturday. Rollins' offense racked up 18 hits while Cameron Enck got his second win of the season for the Tars.
The win is a fifth-straight for the Tars (6-1) while Bentley drops 0-4.
Rollins top of the line-up combined to hit 11-18 with seven RBIs and eight runs scored. Brendan Brundage went 2-5 with a pair of RBIs, Nick Santucci hit 3-5 with three runs scored, Jared Herron was 3-4 and knocked in a pair, and clean-up man Jack Gonzalez hit 3-4 with two RBIs.
Enck moved to 2-0 on the year, throwing five innings and allowing just one earned run with three strikeouts.
After plating two in the first to grab an early lead, Rollins fell behind with Bentley scoring one in the second and two in the top of the fourth.
Rollins then had a big inning in the fourth, scoring seven runs to regain control. The Tars batted through the order in the frame, racking up five hits and taking advantage of two Falcons wild pitches, error and catcher's interference.
Bentley scored one in the fifth to make it 9-4 but the Tars hung four runs on five hits in the sixth to pull away 13-4. Brendon Grover homered with two outs in the ninth to give Bentley one final run.
Grover was 3-5 on the day had a home-run and an RBI. Max Troiani hit 2-5 with one run. Bentley pitcher Luke Dawson took the loss and allowed six runs on eight hits in three innings of work.
The Tars are back at Alfond Stadium Saturday February, 16 at 1 p.m. to start the second game of a three-game series against Bentley. Fans can catch the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
