Rollins Bats Silenced by Florida Tech

MELBOURNE, Fla. (May 10, 2019) – Rollins fell to Florida Tech 7-1 Thursday in the final series opener of the season for both teams. 

The Tars (25-22, 12-16 SSC) hammered out eight hits, but committed three errors in the loss. 

Nick Santucci went 2-4 at the plate to lead the Tars with Luke Reidy driving in the Tars run. Cameron Enck took the loss, allowing two runs and eight hits over six innings. Tate Stone-Frisina and James Hoelle each threw an inning. 

Jacob Buser was the leader for the Panthers (27-18, 15-11 SSC) going 5-5 at the plate with a double and one RBI. Raul Quintero went 3-4 with two RBIs. Colin Cristello won the game, pitching seven innings with six strikeouts. 

Scoreless through the first four innings, Florida Tech took the lead in the fifth with a run and built a 5-0 advantage by the end of the seventh. 

Kyle Hintz was hit by a pitch for the SSC-leading 23rd time to lead off the Tars eighth and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He later scored on a Reidy single to center to get Rollins in the board. 

FIT got the run back with two in the eighth and the teams played to a scoreless ninth.
