WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 9, 2019) – After trailing most of the second half, Rollins battled back to make it a five-point game late, but Palm Beach Atlantic caught fire down the stretch and handed the Tars a 91-80 loss on Saturday.

Jakobi Bonner netted 22 to lead Rollins (9-14, 3-12 Sunshine State Conference). The junior went 9-of-12 from the field and hit both three-point attempts. Hutton Yenor scored an efficient 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including four, 3-pointers.

De'Ondre Jackson had the hot hand for PBA (10-12, 6-8 SSC), scoring 22 points. Jules Jasmin recorded 19 points and seven rebounds while Bakari Warthen scored 15.

Rollins shot 54 percent from the field, going 10-of-22 from long range and 12-for-18 at the free throw line. The Sailfish hit 55 percent, knocking down 12-of-22 beyond the arc and shooting 25-for-34 at the stripe. PBA outrebounded Rollins 29-26.

The Tars set the tone early, running out to a 20-10 lead after nine minutes of play. Rollins was able to keep its distance on PBA until a 7-0 run by the 'Fish tied the score at 32 with 1:48 left in the half.

After a Paxton Wilson three-pointer for PBA in the finals seconds, the teams went into the locker room tied at 36.

Five lead changes and three ties highlighted the start of the second half as a Jackson three-pointer put PBA on top 56-54 with 10:06 left. The Sailfish would then put the Tars down 74-65 with under five minutes to play.

Rollins came back to close to within 76-71 with 2:31 on the clock, but Warthen found Jasmine for a breakaway dunk on a long pass to beat the Tars press and Jackson scored on the next possession to keep the 'Fish in control. Rollins would get no closer than seven the rest of the way.

Reeling from a six-game losing streak, Rollins will look to right the ship on Wednesday, February 13, hosting Tampa at 7:30 p.m. Fans can catch the action live on the Tars Sports Network at and locally on 91.5 FM WPRK.
