ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (September 20, 2018) – After the start of the season was delayed a week due to Hurricane Florence, the Rollins men's golf team is finally ready to begin its 2018-19 campaign, teeing it up at the 9th annual Jay Jennison Cup September 24-25.
Flagler College is serving as host of the event at the World Golf Village Slammer & Squire Course. The tract is set up 6,939 yards and par-72. Teams begin with 36 holes on Monday with an 8:30 shotgun start. They will then play a final 18 holes with tee times on Tuesday.
The 14th-ranked Tars join 14 other schools in the field, which features 12 squads mentioned in the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Preseason Coaches Poll. Third-ranked Barry, seventh-ranked USC-Aiken, 12th-ranked Newberry and Rollins headline the field.

Rollins is playing its five starters and an individual at the event, headlined by a trio of returners. Morgan Egloff is the top returner for the Tars, posting a 72.72 stroke average in nine events a year ago. The senior had a big summer, winning the Maryland Amateur. Will Hall also played in all nine events last season, carrying a 75.60 average and one top-five finish. Louis-Francois Charpentier is playing as an individual at the Jennison Cup. The junior appeared on one event for the Tars last season, finishing 83rd at the McDonough Cup.
Newcomers Trystan Perkins, Nick Bessire and Nick Diebel will be suiting up for the Tars for the first time this week. Perkins played the last two seasons at UT-Tyler and was named a Division III All-American Scholar. Bessire is a standout freshman from Boone High School in Orlando and Diebel enjoyed a banner career at Bishop Moore High School.
