FLORENCE, Ala. (October 10, 2018) – The 13th-ranked Rollins men's golf team hits the road Oct. 15-16 for its second event of the season, playing in the North Alabama TVA Community Credit Union Invitational.
The Tars are coming off a stellar start to the year, tying for fourth at the Flagler Jay Jennison Cup among some of the top Division II competition in the nation. Newcomer Trystan Perkins tied for 11th to lead the way for the Tars, shooting even par with rounds of 70-73-73. Nicholas Bessire and Will Hall tied for 26th with four-over scores of 220. Morgan Egloff was five-over and tied for 34th at the Jennison Cup to start his season.
Hurricane Florence canceled the season-opening Kiawah Island Invitational, making for the abbreviated fall slate.
Perkins, Bessire, Hall and Egloff join Justin Karlins in the Tars line-up for UNA. Karlins is in the Tars starting-five for the first time in his career. The redshirt sophomore played in the McDonough Cup as an individual last season, posting scores of 79-76-79 and tying for 64th.
After its trip to North Alabama, Rollins closes the 2018 Fall season hosting the annual McDonough Cup, Oct. 29-30 at Rio Pinar.
