Rollins Tied for Eighth to Open Southeastern Collegiate

VALDOSTA, Ga. (March 10, 2019) – Rollins' four scorers played the final nine at one-under and moved the Tars into a tie for eighth after the first round of the Southeastern Collegiate. 

Shooting a six-over 294 on Sunday, Rollins is tied with Lander and Lee. West Florida leads the way at two-under, followed by Barry and Saint Leo tied for second at even par. Just 10 shots separate the top 12 teams in the field. 

Morgan Egloff fired a three-under 69 Sunday to lead the Tars. Starting with consecutive birdies on 10 and 11, he played his first nine at one-under. The senior started the back with back-to-back birdies, bogeyed the par-five fourth and go the stroke back with a birdie on No. 7. 

Freshman Nicholas Diebel had a career round and is tied for 10th after a one-under 71. He was one-over at the turn and two-over before a string of three-straight birdies on six, seven and eight got the Winter Park native into red numbers. 

Will Hall turned in a first round 76 and is tied for 55th at four-over. Trystan Perkins rebounded from tough first-nine and finished strong, sitting tied for 78th at six-over (78). Mason Fox is tied for 92nd after an opening round 82. 

Juan Jose Guerra of Nova Southeastern tops the day one leaderboard after shooting a five-over 67. Matt Anderson of Valdosta State and Alberto Castagnara from Saint Leo both shot 68. 

The Southeastern Collegiate continues with a second round on Monday, March 11 and the final round scheduled for Tuesday, March 12. Valdosta State is serving as host of the event at Kinderlou Forest. Fans can follow the scoring live at GolfStat.com.
