EATONTON, Ga. (March 18, 2019) – Behind a strong second round, Rollins grabbed a tie for seventh after day one of the Georgia College Bobcat Invitational Monday.
The Tars opened play with an 11-over 291 at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee and then fired a two-over 282 in the afternoon, jumping four spots and matching third-ranked West Florida at 13 over for the day.
No. 2 Lynn leads the field at three-under, followed by fourth-ranked Florida Southern (-1) and top-ranked Barry (+2). The field of 15 teams features eight teams ranked in the Bushnell Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll top-25 and all but two at least receiving votes.
Morgan Egloff leads the way for the Tars, sitting tied for 11th after the first day. He was three-over in the first round (73) before firing a three-under 67 in the afternoon and getting to even par. The Maryland native has shot par or better in four of his last five competitive rounds. Egloff's second round featured an eagle on the par-five second as well as five birdies.
Will Hall was also in red number in the afternoon, posting scores of 74-69 on the day to sit tied for 23rd (+3). The senior was two-under at the turn and got to three-under before suffering a double bogey on the final hole. Hall jumped 23 spots on the leaderboard with his low second round.
Trystan Perkins shot an even-par 70 to open play and came back with a five-over 75 to sit tied for 34th at five-over. Mason Fox is tied for 49th at seven over (76-71) and Nicholas Diebel (74-78) is tied for 66th at 12-over.
Jorge Garcia (68-67) of Barry and Carlos Marrero (69-66) of West Florida are tied atop the leaderboard at five-under.
Teams will play 18 final holes on Tuesday, March 19, starting at 8:30 a.m. Rollins is grouped with Nova Southeastern and West Florida for the last day. Results will be posted at the conclusion of the round.
