WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 13, 2019) – Ranked 19th in the nation coming out of the regular season, Rollins men's golf opens up the 2019 Sunshine State Conference Championship on Sunday afternoon, seeking the programs sixth title.
The three-day event will be decided at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City. The tract has served as host of the event six other times with Rollins winning its 2002 title on the course. In its illustrious history, the Tars have five SSC titles, most recently in 2003.
The loaded SSC field features four of the top-five ranked teams in the Bushnell Golf Week Division II Coaches Poll. Top-ranked Barry and No. 2 Lynn lead the way with No. 4 Florida Southern and No. 5 Florida Tech also headlining the field. Seventh-ranked Nova Southeastern, No. 14 Saint Leo and Rollins at 19 give the conference seven teams in the nation's top-20.
Morgan Egloff is having a banner year for the Tars, carrying a nation's ninth-best 71.22 stroke average over 18 rounds. The Maryland native has four top-10 finishes and wins at the TVA Credit Union Invitational and Georgia College Bobcat Invitational.
As a team, Rollins was in the top-10 in all but one tournament during the regular season, including a win at the McDonough Cup. The Tars closed the regular season with a fourth place finish at the Bobcat Invitational in Georgia.
