Rollins Starts NCAA South/SE Regional 18th

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (May 9, 2019) – Among the first groups to tee off, Rollins posted a 26-over Thursday and sits 18th after the opening round of the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Region Championships.

The Tars and Greater Orlando Sports Commission are co-hosting the event at historic Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

The Tars posted a round of 314 and are 31-shots off the pace, set by leader Lincoln Memorial (-3). The Railsplitters are the only team in red numbers after the first day. Lynn and West Florida are tied for second at even par while Clayton State is fourth (+4).

The top-seven teams and four individuals not from those teams advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship.

South Carolina-Aiken's August Lindvall and Lincoln Memorials' Sam Broadhurst and Dan Bradbury all shot 69 Thursday and lead the field.

Morgan Egloff leads the way for the Tars, sitting tied for 38th after a four-over 76. The junior opened with birdie on the first hole and played the front at four-over. The Maryland native recovered on the back and was bogey free to close the final nine-holes.

Trystan Perkins is a shot back of Egloff, tied for 51st with a five-over 77. He started with seven-straight pars and was even at the turn. An incredible approach shot from the water on 17 led to his third birdie of the day and got him to even par before playing the last two holes at five-over.

Will Hall is tied for 74th at seven-over, posting a round of 79. Mason Fox shot a round of 82 and is tied for 98 while Nicholas Diebel is 104th, shooting a 12-over 84.

The second round is slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, playing on the El Campeon Course at Mission Inn. The Tars tee off at 12 p.m. on No. 10, playing with Saint Leo and South Carolina-Aiken. Fans can follow the action live at
