Coming off of a 20 day hiatus from official competition, the Rollins men's lacrosse team is ready to take on the Storm of Lake Erie College in a Saturday afternoon showdown in Painesville, Ohio. The Tars, who received votes on this week's NIKE/US Lacrosse Division II Men's Top-20, enter into Saturday's match-up with the Storm with a record of 0-2, while Lake Erie officially opens their home schedule with a record of 0-1, and checked in at No. 20 on this week's NIKE/USL DII Top-20.  Neither team earned recognition on the USILA Division II Coaches Poll this week.

After two games played, the Tars are led in scoring by senior Jeremy Slocumb with five goals, followed by Greg Taicher with three, and Jackson Colling with two.  Connor Ashton and Eric NeCamp lead the team in assists with two apiece.  Kyle Sudol has earned a team best 11 ground balls as he has won 18-of-34 faceoff attempts.  Lucas Brush has notched a team best five caused turnovers, followed by Evan Schimek with four.  In goal, senior Andrew Hoemann has seen a total of 126:55 minutes in between the pipes, facing a total of 63 shots and 39 shots on goal.  Hoemann has earned 21 saves so far this season, earning a save percentage of .538, and has allowed 18 goals, posting a goals against average of just 8.51.


With just one game under their belts, Lake Erie is led by Austin Bishop with three goals.  Lucas Shafer leads the team in assists with three, and has added two goals for a team best five points, while Bishop has added one assist for four points so far this year.  Brandon Donohue has picked up a team best six ground balls, while Tyler Manning has earned a squad high three caused turnovers, followed by Reed Hnidy and Liam Smith with two apiece.  Bret Swan has taken 25 of the Storm's faceoffs so far this year, winning just nine attempts, while Mack Fall has won 2-of-3 attempts.  In goal, Conor Sharkey has played 60 minutes between the pipes, facing 40 shots and 21 shots on goal.  Sharkey has earned five saves, earning a save percentage of .238 after one game played, and has a goals against average of 16.00 after allowing 16 goals in his first game of the season.

  • Last time out against the Storm, Rollins found themselves at the bottom end of an 18-8 final score.  Lake Erie leads the all-time series, 1-0.
  • With 65 overall points, Greg Taicher currently sits ninth in program record books for points in a career.  Taicher also sits ninth overall in career goals (46) and tenth in career assists (19).  The Berwyn, Pa. native concluded his sophomore season setting a program record for points in a season with 51 (37 goals, 14 assists), as well as goals scored in a season (37), and his 14 assists in a season is a good for sixth in program records.
  • Lucas Brush has earned 110 ground balls, good for seventh in program record books for ground balls in a career.  He needs 10 to surpass Andrew Matthews `17 in order to move into sixth place.  The Dublin, Ohio native is also currently fifth in program record books for career caused turnovers with 45.  He currently sits 32 CT's behind program leader Nick Scannapieco (2010-13) who amassed 77 in his career.
