Rollins Receives Votes on USILA DII Coaches Poll, Gets Nod at No. 17 on NIKE/US Lacrosse Top 20

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 26, 2018) – Riding a three-game win streak and coming off of an 8-7 win over then-No. 18 Lynn last week, the Rollins men's lacrosse team continues to receive votes on the USILA Division II Coaches Poll, organization officials announced Monday.

The Tars receive recognition on the USILA Poll for the second straight week. Le Moyne dethrones Merrimack as the new No. 1 this week, climbing from their second-place position last week after earning 400 points and receiving 20 first place votes.  Merrimack drops from first to second this week, while Lenoir-Rhyne checks in at third.  Seton Hill and Pace round out the top-five at fourth and fifth, respectively.

Sitting within the Top-10 from the Sunshine State Conference are Saint Leo, who climb from 10th to eighth this week, while Tampa drops from fifth to ninth after a loss to Florida Tech.  The Panthers crack into the Top-20 this week after their victory over the Spartans, earning the nod at No. 18, while Florida Southern and Lynn join the Tars receiving votes this week.

Rollins climbs to No. 17 on the NIKE/US Lacrosse DII Men's Top 20 standings, climbing three spots from their 20th-place ranking last week.  Le Moyne is the new No. 1 on the NIKE/USL Top 20, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne at No. 2, while Merrimack fall from first to third this week.  Seton Hill remains at No. 4, while Adelphi jumps from seventh to fifth.  Also making a big leap on the NIKE/USL Top 20 is Saint Leo, who climbs from 10th to sixth this week.  The Sunshine State Conference sees plenty of representation, with Tampa dropping from fifth to eighth, Florida Tech cracking into the poll at No. 15, and Lynn dropping from No. 14 to No. 20.  Florida Southern also appears on the rankings, earning votes one again this week.

Rollins returns to action on Monday, March 26, when they host Alabama-Huntsville at Cahall-Sandspur Field.  Game time against the Chargers is set for 7 pm.  Fans who are unable to attend the game in person can follow all of the action live on the Tars Sports Network on RollinsSports.com, as well as with live stats on TarsStats.com.
