SET-UP:
The Rollins men's lacrosse team heads west to Salt Lake City, Utah, to face the Griffins of Westminster College in South Region Action.  The Tars and Griffins are set to face off at 3 p.m. Eastern/1 p.m. Mountain time.  Links to live coverage are available on RollinsSports.com.

TRACKING THE TARS:
Entering into Sunday's matchup with a record of 3-1, the Tars received votes on both the USILA/Warrior and New Balance DII Poll, as well as the NIKE/US Lacrosse DII Top 20 this week.  After four games played, the Tars are led by junior Ryan Dunn, who has notched 12 goals and three assists for a team high 15 points.  Both Joey Cinque and Greg Taicher follow with seven goals apiece, with Taicher adding a team high five assists for 12 points so far this season.  Sophomore Kyle Sudol has earned a team best 23 ground balls, as he has won 35-of-51 faceoff attempts, while Cam Reeves has won 29-of-38 attempts and collected 16 ground balls.  Defender Evan Schimek has notched a team best eight caused turnovers so far this season, and has added nine ground balls and a goal.  In cage for the Tars, senior Landon Salie has seen a total of 203:08 minutes on the field, earning 27 saves while allowing 27 goals for a save percentage of .500 while holding onto a goals against average of 7.98.

TRACKING THE GRIFFINS:
Westminster heads into Sunday's contest with a record of 2-1 overall, and are most recently coming off of a hard fought 11-9 loss to Lynn University on Tuesday, March 5.  After three games played, the Griffins are led by Kolton Atkinson with eight goals, followed by Nick Marcy with six, and Jacob Taylor with four.  Both Atkinson and Marcy have earned 10 points so far this season, with Atkinson adding two assists to his goal count, and Marcy chipping in four assists of his own.  Spencer Whinery leads the team with five assists, and has added three goals for eight points on the season.  Mitchell Senour has earned a team high 17 ground balls, as he was won 30-of-59 faceoffs for a win percentage of .508 as the primary faceoff specialist.  Chase Flinders currently leads the team in caused turnovers with five, and has earned 11 ground balls.  In goal, Sean Edwards and Phil Cannell have played almost equal time.  Edwards enters into Sunday with a record of 1-0, playing 88:56 minutes where he has faced 45 shots.  Edwards has allowed 11 goals and earned 16 saves, owning a save percentage of .593 and a goals against average of .742.  Cannell has played a total of 85:23 minutes in goal, and holds onto a record of 1-1.  After facing 46 shots, Cannell has allowed 16 goals while earning 16 saves, sustaining a save percentage of .500 and a goals against average of 11.24.

THE SERIES:
The Tars lead the overall series 1-0 after earning a 10-8 victory over Westminster on March 16, 2018.

NOTES:

  • The last time the Tars and Griffins met in the field was on March 16, 2018 at Cahall-Sandspur Field, marking the first matchup between the two teams in program history.  The Tars used a strong second quarter to take a 7-2 lead over the Griffins, and held off a resurgent Westminster squad to secure the victory.
  • The Tar are currently 2-1 this season when playing on the road.
  • Rollins enters into Sunday's game holding onto a 70.3 win percentage on faceoffs – winning 71-of-101.
