Tars Crack into National Polls for First Time in 2019

Rollins Checks In on Both USILA and NIKE/US Lacrosse Rankings For First Time This Season

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 18, 2019) – After taking down then No. 20 Colorado Mesa by a final score of 12-8, and earning their sixth-straight victory, the Rollins men's lacrosse team has cracked into the national rankings, checking in at No. 20 on the USILDA/Nike and New Balance Division II Poll, as well as No. 16 on the NIKE/US Lacrosse Division II Top 20, officials from both organizations announced Monday.

This marks the first time the Tars have checked in on either poll this season, as they have received votes on both rankings since the preseason standings released in January.

On the USILA standings, Adelphi claims the No. 1 spot, followed by Limestone at No. 2, and Mercy in third.  Le Moyne and LIU Post round out the Top 5 in that order.  From the Sunshine State Conference, Saint Leo checks in at No. 16, while the Tars get the nod at No. 20.  Also earning votes from the conference are Florida Southern, Tampa, Lynn, and Florida Tech.

On the NIKE/US Lacrosse DII Top 20, the Tars earn the nod at No. 16.  The first four remains the same as the USILA poll, with Adelphi, Limestone, Mercy, and Le Moyne garnering the first for spots, respectively.  Pace grabs the No. 5 slot, while LIU Post checks in at No. 6.  The Tars are the highest ranking team from the Sunshine State Conference in these standings, followed by Lynn at No. 17, and Tampa at No. 20.  Florida Southern, Florida Tech, and Saint Leo also received votes.
