LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 28, 2019) – Senior Defender Evan Schimek became the program's first USILA/Warrior and New Balance All-American, earning Honorable Mention recognition for his 2019 campaign.
Schimek started all 15 games for Rollins this season. The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native led the team with 39 caused turnovers, and became the programs all-time leader in caused turnovers. He also ranked second on the squad with 43 ground balls. The senior added one goal and two assists from his defensive position as well. Schimek tied for the Sunshine State Conference lead in caused turnovers and finished first in the SSC and fifth in the nation in caused turnovers per game. He was named to the USILA Team of the Week three time during the season, and was tabbed SSC Defensive Player of the Week once. Along with his USILA All-American honors Schimek was also named First Team All-SSC.
The Tars ended the campaign at 10-5. Rollins advanced to the SSC Tournament as the third-seed, where they fell to eventual champion Tampa.
