Lewis Adds DiClementi to Coaching Staff

Gary DiClementi has been tabbed the Assistant Coach of the Tars men's lacrosse team and will take the to the sidleines for the first time during the 2019-20 school year.

Head coach Chris Lewis said, "Coach DiClementi has shown, over the course of his career, an ability to both teach and motivate student-athletes to accomplish more than people expect of them.  Having the opportunity to talk defensive schemes and coach-player relationships with him made me positive he was the best candidate of many outstanding coaches that applied for the position.  The recent success experienced by our program is due to players and coaching staff becoming a brotherhood with a common goal.  I am confident Gary will bring his individual commitment to strengthen the team, coaches, and players, and we will all grow the program together, to new heights."

DiClementi joins Rollins after five years at Division I Wagner serving as the associate head coach, defensive coordinator, and recruiting coordinator.  The Seahawks finished as the 11th ranked defense in Division I in 2015, before setting a program record for wins in 2016.  Most recently, in 2018, Wagner boasted the second best man-down defensive unit in the country.

Prior to his time at Wagner, DiClementi spent three years as a defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Kenyon College.  He also spent one year at Frostburg State and one at USMMA at Kings Point.

"I couldn't be more excited to continue my coaching career here at Rollins College," DiClemeti said. "Coach Lewis has done a tremendous job growing the Rollins men's lacrosse program to compete with the best teams in DII; and I'm honored to be a part of the Rollins family."

DiClementi is a native of Long Island, New York, and received my bachelors from Drew University in 2009. A member of the Rangers lacrosse team, DiClementi helped Drew to a Landmark Conference and the ECAC Champions in 2008.  He was first team All-Conference in 2009. DiClementi completed his masters in Leadership from Wagner in 2018.
