ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (September 9, 2014) -

On a wet evening in St. Augustine, No. 3 Rollins relinquished a 1-0 halftime lead, eventually falling to Flagler, 2-1. With the loss, the Tars fall to an even 1-1 while the Saint improve to 2-0-1.

Senior Rob Crowley accounted for the lone Tars score while Alexis Martinez and Grant Blackhurst both recorded assists. Jonny Cosgrove and Caleb Austin both scored for the Saints.

In goal. Julian Grundler suffered his first loss of the season, playing the full 90 minutes but failed to record a save. Lex Craggs earned the win for Flagler, also playing the full game and finished with seven saves.

Rollins outshot the Saints 18-8 in the loss and took five corners compared the Flagler's four.

Neither team would create much of a chance in the early going, the first not coming until the 15th minute when Crowley ripped a shot from the top of the box that sailed just over the crossbar.

Crowley would get another chance less than five minutes later when Martinez played a ball into the box to the head of Blackhurst, who then flicked it toward Crowley in the right side of the box. The senior would then blast a shot past Craggs for his second goal of the season, giving Rollins the 1-0 lead.

The score would hold at 1-0 into the half, with the Tars holding the Saints to zero shots in the first half, outshooting them by a count of 9-0.

Intensity heightened in the second half, culminating with Cosgrove converting a penalty with less than 20 minutes left to tie the score 1-1 after a controversial foul in the box called on Grundler.

Flagler would then take their first lead at the 10:01 mark when Austin ripped a shot from 30 yards out past Grundler and held on late to secure the upset.

Rollins will be back in action on Thursday, September 12th at 8:30 p.m. when they travel to No. 18 West Florida. Fans can follow along with live audio available on the Geico Tars Sports Network on
