ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, the Tars found themselves behind at the half but fought back late in the second to force overtime on Wednesday night, eventually downing Embry-Riddle, 2-1, in overtime. Brett Durrance supplied the offense for Rollins, accounting for both goals while Grant Blackhurst added a pair of assists. Sebastian Walker and Marten Mueller each finished with an assist as well.
As at team, Rollins is outshooting opponents, 91-54, coming into Saturday, averaging 1.8 goals per game. They have also taken 44 corners compared to their opponents' 20.
Durrance and senior Rob Crowley lead the team with three goals each on the year with three others adding one goal each. Blackhurst owns the team lead in assists with three and is third in points with five.
In goal, freshman Julian Grundler has played every minute, allowing 1.36 goals per game and has made 13 saves.
The winningest coach in Rollins soccer history, Dr. Keith Buckley is in his 24th year at the helm of the Tars program in 2014. His career record of 278-132-24 is the 34th best in the history of NCAA Division II men's soccer and ranks 21st among active coaches. In the past decade, Buckley's Tars have won four Sunshine State Conference Championships, three SSC tournament titles, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament eight times.
LYNN AT A GLANCE: Last time out, Lynn thumped Nova Southeastern, 4-0, on Wednesday night. Nicolas Mortensen netted two goals and added an assist while Christopher Hellmann tallied a pair of assists.
As a team, the Knights are eighth in the country in total goals (15) through five games, averaging an even three goals per game. They are seventh in the country in total points (44) and are tied for ninth in assists per game (2.80).
Hellman leads the team with seven goals and is also tied for the team lead in assists with two others with two. Mortensen is second with four goals with four others adding one goal apiece.
In goal, Max Schmidt has started every game, allowing just 0.60 goals per game and has made seven saves with a pair of shutouts.
John Rootes was hired as head coach for Lynn on March 31, 2008, becoming the fourth head coach in program history. During his time with the Fighting Knights he has posted an 86-26-7 (.752) record, earned four NCAA tournament bids, including winning the 2012 NCAA Division II National Championship, and won three Sunshine State Conference regular season crowns and a SSC tournament title.
LAST MEETING: Rollins defeated Lynn, 1-0, back on Oct. 29 of last season to complete the season sweep. The Tars also defeated the Knights, 3-0, in Boca on Oct. 1.
