On a wet evening in Winter Park, Rollins hosted Florida Tech to open conference play on Saturday, eventually falling to the Panthers, 3-2, in double overtime.
The loss snaps the Tars' two-game winning streak as they fall to 4-3 on the year, 0-1 in the SSC, while FIT improves to 4-2-1, 1-0 in conference.
Grant Blackhurst and Marten Mueller scored for Rollins in the loss while Skyler Russell recorded two assists, taking over the team lead with four.
Drake Hillman, Nicolas Dreyer and Jack Willison all scored for the Panthers, with Willison's in the second overtime period serving as the game winner.
In goal, Julian Grundler played every minute for the Tars, making four saves, while Mitch Thorn finished with six saves for FIT, also playing the full game.
Blackhurst's third of the year came in the first half, the only score in the first period, giving Rollins a 1-0 lead at the half.
It wasn't until the 64th minute that Hillman tied the score, cleaning up a loose ball in the box.
Six minutes later, Mueller scored his first goal of the season to give the Tars a 2-1 with less than 20 minutes to play.
The lead, however, would not last long with Dreyer coming right back just a minute later, ripping a shot from 30 yards out, again tying the score.
The score would hold at 2-2, eventually forcing overtime.
After a scoreless first overtime period, Willison finally broke the tie off the assist from Adin Kavara to secure the win.
The Tars will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 1, hosting Florida Southern at 4:30 p.m. Fans that can't make it to Winter Park can watch all the action live in HD on the Geico Tars Sports Network on RollinsSports.com
