ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, The Tars picked up their first conference win of the season on Wednesday afternoon, knocking off Florida Southern, 3-0. As a team, the Tars outshot FSC, 17-11, and took seven corners compared to the Mocs' three. Brett Durrance led the way offensively, scoring twice, with Sebastian Walker chipping in with his second of the year. Durrance also added an assist while Skyler Russell had a season high two.
As a team, Rollins is first in the SSC in assists, averaging 2.38 per game, and is fourth in scoring offense, scoring 2.00 per game.
Durrance currently leads the team with five goals, tied for third most in the conference, while Rob Crowley and Grant Blackhurst are tied for eighth in the SSC with three scores each.
Russell is tied for the conference lead with six assists while freshman keeper Julian Grundler is fifth in the SSC with a 1.32 goals against averages and tied for third in saves with 27.
The winningest coach in Rollins soccer history, Dr. Keith Buckley is in his 24th year at the helm of the Tars program in 2014. His career record of 280-133-24 is the 34th best in the history of NCAA Division II men's soccer and ranks 21st among active coaches. In the past decade, Buckley's Tars have won four Sunshine State Conference Championships, three SSC tournament titles, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament eight times.
BARRY AT A GLANCE: Last time out, Barry battled the weather on Wednesday night, eventually falling to Lynn, 2-1. Manual Perez scored the lone goal for the Bucs while Rory Kay took four shots. Barry was outshot by Lynn, 15-12, in the game with keeper Jimmy McGregor finishing with four saves on six chances.
As a team, Barry is third in the SSC in scoring offense, averaging 2.14 goals per game, but is last in goals allowed, surrendering over two per game.
Frank Lustig and Nico Gercke are tied four seventh in the conference in points, both with nine, and are tied for the team lead with four goals apiece.
In goal, Robby Shearer has played the majority of the minutes, starting six games with a goals against average of 2.09 and has made 25 saves.
With over a decade at the helm of the Barry University men's soccer program, Steve McCrath is one of the top coaches in collegiate soccer. He is in his 16th season with the Buccaneers and has compiled an impressive 186-88-30 record to make him the winningest coach in Barry history and the third winningest active coach in the Sunshine State Conference with a .666 percentage. McCrath has been named Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year four times with his latest coming in 2010.
LAST MEETING: Rollins last met Barry on Oct. 12 of last season, defeating the Bucs 2-0. Rafa Faria and Grant Blackhurst scored in the win.
