ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, The Tars found themselves behind two goals at the half and never fully recovered on Saturday afternoon, falling to Barry by a final score of 3-1. Alexis Martinez scored the lone goal for the Tars, his second of the year, while Tosan Popo was credited with the assist. Martinez and Grant Blackhurst each took a team high four shots. In goal, freshman Julian Grundler made nine saves in 90 minutes for the Tars.
Entering Tuesday, Rollins is fourth in the SSC in goals (17), goals per game (1.89/game) and goals allowed, surrendering 1.56 per match.
Individually, Brett Durrance leads the team and is tied for fourth in the conference with five goals through nine games with Blackhurst and Rob Crowley behind him with three each. Skyler Russel is tied for the SSC lead with six assists.
Grundler currently is second in the SSC in saves (36), fourth in shutouts (2) and fifth in goals against average (1.50/game)
The winningest coach in Rollins soccer history, Dr. Keith Buckley is in his 24th year at the helm of the Tars program in 2014. His career record of 280-134-24 is the 34th best in the history of NCAA Division II men's soccer and ranks 21st among active coaches. In the past decade, Buckley's Tars have won four Sunshine State Conference Championships, three SSC tournament titles, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament eight times.
LYNN AT A GLANCE: Last time out, Lynn improved to 3-0 in Sunshine State Conference play with a 4-1 road victory over Eckerd on Saturday night. Dominik Friedl scored his first career goal while Nicolas Mortensen notched a pair of goals. Chris Hellmann scored his 11th goal of the season and added three assists in the win.
As at team, the Fighting Knights lead the conference in shots (173), points (72), goals (24), goals per game (2.67), assists (24) and assists per game (2.67/game).
Defensively, they are second in total goals allowed and third in goals against average, allowing just 0.89 per game.
Hellman is tops in the SSC in goals (12), goals per game (1.33), assists (6) and game winning goals (4).
John Rootes was hired as head coach for the Lynn University men's soccer team on March 31, 2008, becoming the fourth head coach in program history. During his time with the Fighting Knights he has posted an 94-27-7 record, earned four NCAA tournament bids and won three Sunshine State Conference regular season crowns and a SSC tournament title.
