Greenbaum and Sweeney Sweep SSC Player of the Week Awards

MELBOURNE, Fla. (October 13, 2014) - After a week in which the Tars went 1-0-1 against a pair of top-10 opponents, senior Evan Greenbaum and freshman Parker Sweeney of Rollins earned SSC Men's Players of the Week awards, it was announced on Monday.

Greenbaum, a Stuart, Fla. native, was named Offensive Player of the Week after scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 win over No. 3 Saint Leo on Sunday. Greenbaum scored in the 16th minute off a corner from teammate Skyler Russell. The senior also played 93 minutes in a double overtime 2-2 draw with No. 9 Lynn last Tuesday.

Sweeney was named Defensive Player of the Week. Earlier in the week, he made his first career appearance for Rollins in overtime against Lynn. He played 15 minutes and preserved the draw. The freshman then made his first career start against Saint Leo over the weekend, making two saves en route to his first career shutout.

With the play of Greenbaum and Sweeney, the Tars improve to 6-4-1 overall, 2-2-1 in SSC play, and will host Nova Southeastern on Wednesday, October 15th at 7 p.m. Fans can catch all the action live on the Geico Tars Sports Network on
