After playing to a 1-1 draw after 110 minutes of play on Tuesday night, Rollins fell, 5-4, in penalty kicks to Nova Southeastern in the SSC Tournament First Round.
The Sharks now advance to the SSC Semifinal against top-seed and host, Lynn, on Friday, Novemeber 7.
The Tars were outshot, 18-14, for the game but took nine corners compared to NSU's five.
Jared Weiner provided the scoring for Rollins, his first of the year, with Evan Greenbaum and Taylor Cook each registering an assist.
Mattia Marzetti scored the lone goal for the Sharks, converting a penalty kick late in the second half to tie the score.
With the score tied after regulation, Rollins and NSU headed to OT.
Niether team would threaten much in the first overtime period before the Tars saw there best chance of the extra time in the 106th minute. Greenbaum found himself open near post and sent a header toward goal but Sharks keeper Andrea Giombetti somehow was able to keep it out of the back of the net to preserve the tie and force PK's
Both teams would convert their first two chances before Giombetti stoned Grant Blackhurst on the Tars' third attempt.
NSU converted their three remaining kicks to move on to Friday's SSC Semifinal.
Rollins will now wait for the NCAA Division II Selection Show on Monday, November 10th at 7:30 p.m. to see if they will receive a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
