Rollins' Tosan Popo and Rob Crowley were named Daktronics All-South Region on Monday, two of 15 Sunshine State Conference selections overall. Saint Leo and Lynn each logged four first team honorees as the SSC claimed 10 first team picks while Alabama-Huntsville collected the most individual accolades with five.
All first team selections are now eligible for Daktronics All-America consideration. Voting was conducted by sports information directors from the South Region.
The 2013 SSC Freshman of the Year, Popo, was named to the first team, adding the accolade after already being named to the SSC first team for the second straight year.
Crowley took home second team honors, finishing the year tied for second on the team with four goals. The senior was also already named to the Sunshine State Conference first team.
Lynn University's Chris Hellmann was honored as the Daktronics South Region Player of the Year. Joining Hellman and Popo as a forward on the Daktronics First Team is Gulf South Conference Player of the Year, Jose Ferraz, from Christian Brothers, Adin Kavara of the Florida Institute of Technology and teammate Nicolas Mortensen.
