The Tars have been selected to finish sixth in the Sunshine State Conference Preseason Poll, which was announced Wednesday. The poll is conducted by the SSC's eleven head coaches.
Defending regular season and conference tournament champions Lynn have been picked to finish a top the SSC, with the Fighting Knights picking up eight first place votes. New member Palm Beach Atlantic, Tampa, Florida Tech, and Barry round out the top five. The Spartans picked up two first place votes, while the final first place nod went to Eckerd, who finished a spot behind the Tars in seventh.
Rollins lands in sixth, with 57 total votes, landing squarely in the middle of the newly expanded conference. The Tars are coming off an 8-6-2 season, in which they narrowly missed postseason play. Rollins will turn to a bevy of returners, including nine seniors, for leadership this year.
The Tars open the year on the road, traveling to North Carolina to take on Lees McRae, and defending National Champion, Wingate.
