Grundler Earns SSC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

MELBOURNE, Fla. (September 25, 2017) – After anchoring the Rollins defense through two vital Sunshine State Conference wins last week, Tars' goalkeeper Julian Grundler has been named the SSC Defensive Player of the Week.  This is the first SSC Player of the Week award for the senior net-minder.

Grundler led the Tars to two victories as Rollins defeated rival Florida Southern on Wednesday, before traveling to Barry and taking down the Bucs on Saturday.  The Singen, Germany native held a clean sheet against the Mocs while earning six saves, then tallied four saves, while surrendering just one goal, in 108 minutes of action, in the Tars double overtime win at Barry.  For the week Grundler earned a .91 save percentage while giving up just .46 goals per game.

The Tars will return to action on Wednesday, September 27, when they will travel to Boca Raton to take on defending SSC Champions Lynn.
