Rollins Climbs United Soccer Coaches National Ranks

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (September 11, 2018) – Rollins continued to climb the United Soccer Coaches National Poll.  The Tars jumped from No. 25 in week one to No. 21 this week, the organization announced Tuesday.

Rollins captured a pair of wins on the road last week.  The Tars beat West Florida 3-1, before besting Spring Hill, who received votes in last week's poll, 4-0.  Stefan Avram picked up his second SSC Offensive Player of the Week Award after scoring three goals and adding one assist.  Eidur Ivarsson started his first collegiate games and earned the SSC Defensive Player of the Week Award for his efforts.

Lynn dropped from the top position after falling to No. 19 West Alabama last week, settling at No. 15.  Palm Beach Atlantic is now the highest Sunshine State Conference team in the poll, as they jumped from No. 9 to No. 7.  Rollins rounds out the SSC teams in the top-25, at No. 21.  Florida Southern and Florida Tech each received votes.

The Tars close out the non-conference portion of the schedule with contests against Southeastern and Trinity Baptist this week.  The Tars and Fire get the action underway Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Barker Family Stadium.
