Tars Put Out Fire with 4-0 Victory

WINTER PARK, Fla. (September 11, 2018) – Rollins remained perfect, making it five wins in five games, following a 4-0 victory over Southeastern Tuesday evening.  Rollins is now 5-0-0 with one game remaining before they enter the Sunshine State Conference gauntlet.  Southeastern remains 4-1-0 in 2018.

George New, Max Muecke, and Kevin Da Rocha Figueira and Jonah Adomakoh each opened their 2018 accounts with goals for the Tars.  The goal by De Rocha Figueira was his first point as a Tar, while Jonah Adomakoh and Tyler Nagy picked up their first points with the assists on the tally.  Logan Laskey and Luis Diego earned the other helpers for Rollins.  TJ Brubaker and Abdiel Martinez split time in net, combining for the shutout.

Rollins got on the board in the 22nd minute when New placed a shot in the top corner from 20 yards out making the score 1-0.  Muecke converted a penalty just over 10 minutes later to double the Tars lead.  De Rocha Figueira tallied just three minutes into the second half; he, Adomakoh, and Nagy danced around the defense during a three on two opportunity, with De Rocha Figueira blasting the final ball into the net.  Jonah Adomakoh got a much-deserved goal late in the game to cap off the victory, gathering a Diego pass and gliding by a defender before powering the ball off the crossbar and in.

The Tars return to action on Friday, September 14, when they host Trinity Baptist at Barker Family Stadium.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
