FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (September 29, 2018) – Rollins continues to search for their first Sunshine State Conference victory, as they fell to Nova Southeastern, 3-1, on the road, continuing their slump. The Tars drop to 6-4-0 overall, and 0-4-0 in conference action. The Sharks improve to 8-1-0, and 4-0-0 in SSC play.
Christian Adams recorded the Rollins tally on the evening. He was assisted by Dominic Adomakoh. The goal was Adams second of his Rollins career, while the assist was the second point of the season for the sophomore Adomakoh. Eidur Ivarsson made eight saves in net for the Tars. Stefan Faistenauer, Sebastian Loibl, and Darwin Lom each scored for Nova Southeastern, while four Sharks tallied assists. A pair of keepers combined for three saves in net for NSU.
Lom got the scoring started just before the 20 minute mark. The Nova Southeastern forward took a shot that just slipped inside the left post. Loibl collected a perfectly place through ball and finished a one-on-one opportunity for moments later, as the Sharks took a 2-0 lead into halftime. Adams gathered an Adomakoh pass and finished from a severe angle just after the halftime break, as the Tars tried to flip the script in the second period. Rollins, however, could not find the equalizer, and with the Tars sending players forward, they were caught for a third goal late in the game. Faistenauer scored on a rebound to seal the 3-1 win for the Sharks in the 86th minute.
Rollins will look to regroup as they take on Tampa at home on Wednesday, October 3. First kick against the Spartans is set for 7 p.m.
