MELBOURNE, Fla. (October 23, 2018) – The Tars ended their 2018 campaign with a defeat at the hands of the Florida Tech, 4-0, in Melbourne. Rollins will end their 2018 campaign at 10-6-0 overall and 4-6-0 in Sunshine State Conference action. The Panthers will enter the SSC Tournament at 10-3-1, and 6-3-1 in conference play.
Rollins managed 10 shots, and put four on target. Christian Adams led the team with two attempts. TJ Brubaker made five saves, playing the full 90 minutes for the Tars. Florida Tech got scores from Mikkel Roeisland, Stian Olsen, Robbie Madden, and Luca Campanini in the effort. The Panthers also got on the scoresheet with assists, Hugo Lopez, Danny Berrios, and Paris Roserie.
Florida Tech would take the lead with less than minute remaining in the first half. Berrios launched a long throw, from deep in the Rollins defensive half, into the penalty box. Stian Olsen would get his head to the ball and loft it into the far netting. The Panthers would double their advantage early in the second 45 minutes. Roeisland would bury a shot after a Roserie cross in the 56th minute. The Panthers would find the back of the net for a third time just before the 70 minute mark. Madden directed the ball past Brubaker off a Lopez assist. A penalty kick goal by Campanini would round out the scoring for Florida Tech.
The match concluded the Tars' 2018 season.
