Tars Finish Strong On Day 1 At SCAD

SAVANNAH, Ga. (November 30, 2017) – The Tars took to the pool for the first of three days at the SCAD invitational. Rollins currently sits in fifth place out of 11 teams at the invitational, tallying 100.5 points in the first day. Wingate currently leads the meet with 244 points, followed by NAIA schools Keiser with 228 points and SCAD with 139. Division III foe Emory holds a narrow six-point lead over the Tars for fourth-place.

Rollins started off the meet strong recording a third-place finish in the 4x50 yard relay with a time of 1:33.68. Freshman Alex Norcini then took over, as he was able to pick up a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard IM, touching the wall at 1:52.63. In the same event, Dan Sulkowski was able to tab 11th place with a time of 1:56.71. Junior Paul Tobin picked up some important points for the Tars in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in seventh place with a time of 21:06. In the final event of Day 1, the Tars registered a time of 7:06.27, which was good for a sixth-place finish in the 4x200 yard relay.

Rollins will continue to participate in the SCAD invitational in Savannah, Georgia. Day two of the meet is scheduled to resume on Friday, December 1st.
