Tars Fall to Lions in SSC Finale

SAINT LEO, Fla. (January 20, 2018) – The Tars dropped their final SSC dual meet of the season, falling to the Saint Leo Lions 196-62.

Freshmen Alex Norcini and Chase Benton paced the Tars on the day, each picking up a second and a third place finish.  Norcini touched second in the 50 Yard Backstroke, outsprinting the third place finisher by .08 seconds with a time of 27.07 seconds.  The Lilburn, Georgia native then finished in bronze medal position in the 400 Yard Individual Medley with a time of 4:16.93, senior Arron Nestor would tally a fourth place finish the event.  Benton collected his second place finish in the 50 Yard Butterfly sprint, while taking home third place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 22.76.  Dan Sulkowski, Asa Marvel, and Jason Heishman also picked up third place finishes in the meet.

Rollins will be participating in an Inner squad scrimmage next weekend at the Alfond Swimming Pool. The Tars will then turn their attention to the SSC Championship Meet that is scheduled to begin on Thursday, February 22nd.
