Tars Swim Day One at SCAD

SAVANNAH, GA. (November 29, 2018) – Rollins men's swimming enjoyed a solid start to the Savannah College of Art & Design Invitational on Thursday.

Christian Huber set a new program standard in the 50-yard freestyle, taking fourth with a time of 20.82. His mark is 0.12 seconds better than the previous record set last year. Brady Spear finished 11th in a time of 21.50.

Huber teamed with Alex Norcini, Chase Benton and Dan Sulkowski to take fifth in the 200-yard medlay relay with a time of 1:34.85.

Norcini took fourth in the 500 yard freestyle, hitting the wall in 4:35.94.

Luggi Reno took 15th in the 200 yard IM in a time of 1:57.55.

Finishing the first day off first day competition, Asa Marvel, Elliot Wylie, Norcini and Kyle Major swam in the 800 yard freestyle relay, taking fourth with a time of 7:01.41.

Rollins rounded up 94 points on the first day. Wingate University leads the way with 256, followed by Keiser University (213) and SCAD (135).

The Tars are back in the pool Friday, Nov. 30 for the second of the three-day invitational. Prelims are slated for 9 a.m. with finals scheduled for 5 p.m.
