MATCH UP: Rollins at Florida Tech
SCHEDULE: Friday, January 25 | 3 p.m. | Panther Aquatic Center Melbourne, Fla.
SET UP: After hosting NCAA Division III and NAIA competition the last two meets, Rollins is on the road Friday, visiting Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Tech. The Tars beat Baldwin-Wallace prior to the holiday break and gave NAIA top-ranked SCAD a fight in early January. Rollins has just three dual meets remaining in the regular season, all against in-league foes. Florida Tech is ranked No. 19 in the CSCAA poll and are 23rd in the CollegeSwimming Team Rankings. The Panthers are 0-2 against SSC teams this year, having lost to Saint Leo and Nova Southeastern. Tech will be competing for just be second time since before Thanksgiving.
WHO TO WATCH:
ROLLINS: Rollins is led by the quartet of Christian Huber, Alex Norcini, Dan Sulkowski and Elliot Wylie. Huber set a new school record in the 50 freestyle earlier in the season, the 42nd best time in the nation and eighth-fastest in the SSC. Norcini is ranked 12th in the SSC in the 500 and 22nd in the 1000 as the regular season winds down. Wylie owns the league's 14th-best time in the 100 backstroke while Sulkowski's time in the 100 breaststroke is 10th in the conference.
FLORIDA TECH: Returning All-America Victor Rocha Furtado headlines the Panthers on the season. The senior is ranked No. 1 in the nation in both the 50 and 100 freestyle races while sitting third nationally and first in the SSC in the 100 butterfly. Emanuele Rossi is second in the SSC in the 50 while ranking 10th in the 200 freestyle and fifth in the 100 backstroke. The Tech 200 freestyle relay team ranks fifth in Division II and tops the SSC.
Rollins is on the road Friday, February 1 with a trip to Saint Leo before hosting Lynn for Senior Day on Saturday, February 2.
