Tars Finish Strong at Florida Tech Invite

MELBOURNE, FLA. (November 24, 2019) – Rollins finished a very successful weekend with more NCAA B cuts Sunday and took third at the Florida Tech Panther Invitational.

The Tars closed the three-day event with 403 points. Florida Southern came in first (620.5), Florida Tech (515.5) and Saint Leo fourth (149).

On Sunday in the 200-yard backstroke, Luke Waite finished fifth with a time of 1:52.59 to get the Tars started.

Christian Huber posted a runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle stopping the clock in 45.87.

Connor Xu finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:05.02) while Luiggi Reno took fourth place with a time of 2:07.07.

Alex Norcini came in second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:51.95.

The weekend saw three different Tars reach NCAA B cuts in four different events. Freshman Connor XU is on the NCAA B cut list in the 500 freestyle and 1650 freestyle, Alex Norcini in the 500 freestyle and 400 IM and Christian Huber in the 50 freestyle.
