Rollins Closes Fall Slate at Juan Varon Memorial Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (October 28, 2018) – Rollins concluded their 2018 fall season at the Juan Varon Wildcat Memorial Invitational, hosted by Bethune Cookman.

Gai Feigin and Ziad Melhaoui competed in the top doubles Flight for the Tars.  Nicolo De Fraia and Frederick Danielson highlighted the Tars duos, advancing to the finals of the Flight B Bracket.  The pair downed pairs from Flagler, Bethune Cookman, and Embry-Riddle on their way to the second place finish.  Cody Gubin and Salvador Bolanos fell to the consolation portion of the Doubles C Flight, where they swept through the competition, including a 6-0 shutout win over a pair from Eastern Florida State College in their final match.

Guillermo De Nicolas-Ruiz competed in the Men's Singles A Flight for Rollins.  De Fraia had a successful singles campaign for Rollins in the B Flight.  The senior won his first match, before falling to the consolation bracket where he advanced to the finals. Melhaoui, Atakan Gezer, and Gubin competed in Flights C, D, and E, respectively.  Bolanos competed in Flight E, where, similar to DeFraia, he won his first match, before advancing to the consolations final.

Rollins will now wait through the winter, before starting the spring season on, Friday, February, 1, against Arkansas-Fort Smith.  First serve is at 3 p.m.
