TEMPE, Ariz. (December 4, 2018) – Following a successful fall campaign, the Tars prepare for the spring season with players ranked among the nation's best.  The ITA released their first singles and doubles ranking of the year, which place Tars' senior Ziad Melhaoui at No. 21 on the national singles charts, while Melhaoui and teammate Guy Feigin team up to form the No. 17 doubles pair in the nation.

Melahoui won three singles matches at the ITA South Regional, advancing to the quarterfinals of the event.  The duo had similar success in doubles bracket, defeating teams from Lynn, Barry, and Embry-Riddle in another quarterfinal run.  In addition to their national rankings, Melhaoui ranks No. 6 in South Region Singles, with he and Feigin slotted No. 4 in South Region Doubles.

Nicolas De Fraia is the only other Tar who will start the year ranked, earning the No. 20 spot in the South Region Singles Poll.

The Tars spring season starts on February 1 when the Tars will welcome Arkansas-Fort Smith to Winter Park.  First serve is set for 3 p.m.
