Lynn: Live Stats
Rollins, who received votes in the most recent ITA National Poll, faces a difficult week of competition. They will put their unblemished record on the line against a pair of top-15 opponents. The Tars will start by welcoming the No. 15 Flagler Saints to Winter Park, before heading out on their first true road trip of the year, and opening Sunshine State Conference play, by traveling south to face No. 3 Lynn. The Saints fell from the sixth spot in the first poll of the year, but remained near the top of the ranks at No. 15. Lynn held steady at the No. 3 spot between the first two polls. Rollins will have to prepare to raise their level of play if they hope to stay unbeaten in 2019.
WHO TO WATCH:
The Tars have dropped just one point all year, winning their four matches by a combined score of 27-1. Last time out the Tars downed Davenport at the USTA National Campus by a score of 7-0. The Tars swept doubles play, and dropped just one set in singles action on their way to the shutout. Overall, Rollins is 24-0 in singles action this season. Nicolo De Fraia is 4-0 on the year, playing in the first singles position. Ziad Melhaoui, the nation's No. 21 ranked singles player, is also undefeated, playing on the third court. Melahoui teams up with Gai Feigin to form Rollins top doubles partnership. The two are ranked No. 17 in country, and currently sit at 3-1 on the year.
After a 2-0 start the Saints picked up losses to then No. 2 Barry and No. 19 Palm Beach Atlantic. However, Flagler has rebounded with three straight wins over No. 18 Embry-Riddle, No. 6 Saint Leo, and No. 3 Lynn, as the Saints continue their trip through the SSC. Lukas Storck sees the first court action for Flager, where he has gone 4-2 on the year, including one win over nationally ranked opposition. Felipe Carvalho leads Flagler in wins, going 6-1 on the year. He is 1-0 in the second spot, 1-1 in the third, and 4-0 in the fourth, with one win over a nationally ranked foe. The Saints are 25-16 overall in singles play. The Fighting Knights started the year with five consecutive wins, including one over No. 7 Saint Leo, but fell last time out to No. 15 Flagler. The Fighting Knights put two names on the ITA National Rankings, No. 38 Jose Porfino Ordonez and No. 43 Kay Bartmann. Bartmann is seeing the top court action for the Fighting Knights. While Ordonez has seen time in the fourth spot. Lucca Baptista earned the No. 15 spot in the South Region Singles poll. Bartmann and Florian Clemares team up to form the number one doubles team for Lynn. The pair were named Second Team All-SSC following the 2018 campaign. Lynn will travel to Eckerd before returning home to host the Tars.
The Tars will face a busy week of non-conference action, starting with Division I Mount St. Mary's on Monday, March 4, at 3 p.m.
