Tars Enter the Top-10 in Newest ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. (April 17, 2019) – Rollins jumped three spots in the ITA National Rankings, breaking into the top-10 for the first time this season, at No. 10, the organization announced today.  Nicolo De Fraia slid three spots, after falling for the first time this campaign, but remained among the country's best, at No. 16.  Ziad Melhaoui and Andrea Brignacca continue to climb the Doubles Rankings, settling inside the top-10, at No. 9.

Rollins sits at 15-5 on the year, with four of their five losses coming to teams ranked in the top-10, and one against a Division I opponent.  The Tars are 4-3, and currently sit fourth, in the Sunshine State Conference.

De Fraia has recovered from his first loss of the season to reel off two consecutive wins, improving his overall mark to 18-1 on the year.  The senior has played exclusively in the first position, and has defeated three nationally ranked opponents, and six regionally ranked opponents.

Melhaoui and Brignacca are 5-1 since combining to feature in the top doubles spot.  The duo have picked up three wins against nationally ranked opposition, and are 2-1 in SSC play.

Barry fell from the top-spot this week, but the poll still features a strong Sunshine State contingent.  The Bucs are second, followed by Saint Leo at No. 4.  Rollins rounds out the top-10, at No. 10.  Lynn sits at No. 12, while Palm Beach Atlantic held steady at No. 23.  Florida Southern jumped one spot to No. 35, while Embry-Riddle rounds out the SSC presence at No. 40.

Rollins will finish their regular season today, April 17, with a visit to the No. 35 Mocs.  First serve against Florida Southern in set for 3 p.m.
