Rollins went 6-1 in seven games last week.  The Tars swept a pair of doubleheaders, against Adelphi and Kentucky State, sandwiched around taking two of three at Tampa in a Sunshine State Conference series.  Rollins has tied a season long with a four game winning streak, which they will look to extend this weekend.  The Tars will host No. 17 Palm Beach Atlantic, their fourth ranked opponent of the season.

Tars sit one and two in the conference in RBI, with Abigail Sexton driving in 18 runs, while Chandler Middlebrook is responsible for plating 17.  Overall the Tars have scored 88 runs in 19 games, and are batting .264 on the year.  Rollins is second in the SSC in doubles, and tied for the lead in homeruns.  Middlebrook and Sexton also lead the team in batting average, at .373 and .344 respectively.  Jordan Davis is hitting .339 on the year, and leads the conference with 12 stolen bases.

Rollins has gotten solid pitching from three Tars.  Abby Sexton has seen a majority of the time, earning a 6-6 record over 74.1 innings of work.  Grace Street is the reigning SSC Pitcher of the Week after her performances against Adelphi and Tampa.  Erin Crawford made her first career start a memorable one against Kentucky State, throwing the Tars' first no-hitter since 2016.

Palm Beach Atlantic jumped a spot in the NFCA National Poll, courtesy of a three game sweep of Adelphi, moving from No. 18 to No. 17 in the most recent rankings.

The Sailfish have combined to bat .351 on the year, while slugging .459, with a .443 on base percentage, all tops in the SSC.  Magnolia West is pacing the Sailfish offence through 12 games.  The outfielder is hitting a conference leading .488, while slugging a team best .569.  Michaela Hynes was honored as the SSC Player of the Week for her efforts against Adelphi, which saw the senior go 8-10, with six runs, and four RBI.  Edmilly Molina has driven in 13 runs to lead the Sailfish.

Abbey Busby, Jana Wagner, and Ashton Adkins have split a majority of the time in the circle.  Busby is 4-0 in five appearances, with a 1.66 ERA.  Wagner is 4-0 with nine appearances, two starts, and two shutouts.  Adkins is 2-1 in five starts with a team leading 28.0 innings pitched.

  • The Tars have opened SSC play against the teams picked to finish first and second in the conference, winning both series two game to one. Palm Beach Atlantic was picked third, Rollins and Embry-Riddle were picked in a tie for fourth.
  • The Sailfish took two of three last year in West Palm Beach.  The Sailfish took the opener, Rollins rebounded to win game two, but PBA took the rubber match to win the series.
  • Middlebrook leads the SSC with 11 doubles, she needs just six more to move into the top-10 in the Rollins single season record book.  The all-time single season record holder is Liz Bartels, who hit 28 in 1996.
  • Michelle Frew is 782-332-1, and ranks as the 16th winningest active coach in Division II.

The Tars begin a busy week by hosting the Tiffin Dragon to Rollins Softball Stadium on Monday, March 5, for doubleheader action.  First pitch of game one is set 5 p.m.
