The Tars are coming off their first Sunshine State Conference series win since early March, after they took two of three from Nova Southeastern last weekend.  Chandler Middlebrook highlighted the series with a pair of walk off homeruns.  Rollins will now leave Winter Park for the final time this campaign, as they travel south to take on the Lynn Fighting Knights in Boca Raton. 

Middlebrook continues to pace a Tars offense that is hitting a combined .265 on the year.  The senior from Auburndale, Florida, leads the Tars in batting average, at .344, doubles, with 15, RBI, with 36, walks, with 25, on base percentage, at .453, and slugging, at .595.  Jordan Davis is batting .336 on the season, while leading the Tars on the base paths, tallying 30 steals.  Brianne Lint has blasted seven homeruns on the year, most on the squad. 

Grace Street and Abby Summers continue to see a majority of the time is the circle for Rollins.  Street has earned a 14-8 record, with a 2.48 ERA, and 122 strikeouts.  Summers is 10-11 overall with 11 complete games, and 112 strikeouts. 

Lynn is coming off a sweep at the hands of the Embry-Riddle Eagles.  The Fighting Knights fell in extra innings in game one, before succumbing 8-3, and 6-4 in the final two contests. 

The Fighting Knights are hitting .258 as a team, with a .349 slugging percentage.  Francais Olexa leads Lynn with a .375 batting average, 27 walks, and a conference best .528 on base percentage.  Victoria Rios has sent eight balls over the outfield fence, and has driven in a teams leading 28 RBI.  Kayla Sheffield has registered a .548 slugging percentage, on the back of 14 doubles, and six homeruns. 

Four pitchers have seen action for the Fighting Knights this season.  Olexa leads the group with 125.0 innings pitched, and a 2.24 ERA.  Allyson Jameston has pitched 79.0 innings, earning a 9-4 mark, with a 2.84 ERA.  Sheffield and Olivia Saviskas round out the rotation. 


  • The Tars took two of three from Lynn last season, including a two out, grand slam by Amanda Guglietta to give the Tars a 6-5 win in game two.
  • Lynn and Rollins rank first and second in the SSC in homeruns, the Fighting Knights have hit 25, while the Tars have knocked 24.
  • Chandler Middlebrook leads the SSC in slugging percentage, RBI, and doubles, while Jordan Davis continues to pace the conference in steals.
  • Michelle Frew is 796-344-1, and ranks as the 16th winningest active coach in Division II. 

The Tars will close the 2018 campaign by hosting the Barry Buccaneers for a three game series on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.  First pitch of game one is set for 7 p.m.
