The Tars took the opener from the Lynn Fighting Knights last weekend, but fell in both legs of the doubleheader, dropping their final road series, two games to one.  Rollins now returns home as they look to end the year on a positive note, hosting Sunshine State Conference opponent, Barry.  With a series sweep against the Buccaneers the Tars can earn head coach Michelle Frew her 800th win at Rollins.  Prior to Saturday's doubleheader the Tars will honor a trio of seniors, Kacie Booth, Brianne Lint, and Chandler Middlebrook

Chandler Middlebrook continued to add to her already impressive totals last weekend against Lynn.  The senior is batting .340, with an on base percentage of .448, a slugging percentage of .582, 16 doubles, and 38 RBI, all team bests.  Jordan Davis is batting .335 on the year, and has stolen 32 bases on 37 attempts.  Brianne Lint brings the power for Rollins, the Palm Beach Gardens native has blasted eight homeruns on the year.

Grace Street and Abby Summers continue to handle most of the pitching duties for Rollins.  Street has compiled a 15-9 record, with a 2.58 ERA.  Summers has seen action in 140.2 innings, striking out 118 batters.  Erin Crawford has pitched 18.1 innings on the season.

Barry lost two of three against the Embry-Riddle Eagles last time out.  The Bucs have only won one SSC series this season, against Eckerd on April 13 and 14.

Lynsey Duncan paces Barry, with a .319 average, however, Maddy VonHagel leads the the Barry offense.  The senior catcher is batting .301 with eight doubles, and a team leading four homeruns, and 36 RBI.  Anieliese Palmeiro is slugging a team best .459 on the back of 11 doubles, three triples, and three homeruns.  The Bucs have four players with double digit steals, Alayna Gallagher, 17, Palmeiro, 15, Taylor Checkley, 13, and Sam Busekrus, 12.

Two pitchers have seen most of the action in the circle for Barry.  Geneva Santos has pitched 164.0 innings, with an ERA of 3.16.  Chrstie Falcon is 11-10 with 28 appearances and 12 complete games.  Sofia Dominguez and Duncan round out the rotation.

  • Chandler Middlebrook's slugging percentage, RBI total, and doubles all lead the SSC.
  • Jordan Davis leads the SSC in steals with 32, and ranks sixth in Rollins history for steals in a single season.  The center fielder needs to swipe two more bases to move into a tie for fifth with Sherri Rabenold, who stole 34 in 2007.
  • Brianne Lint's eight homeruns are good enough for a tie for second in the conference.
  • Michelle Frew is 797-346-1, and ranks as the 16th winningest active coach in Division II.

This will conclude the 2018 Rollins Softball campaign.
