MELBOURNE, Fla. (April 1, 2019) – Rollins centerfielder Jordan Davis has been named the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week, the organization has announced. This is the senior's first SSC Weekly Award.
Davis went 9-12 in an SSC series sweep of the Eckerd Tritons over the weekend. She slapped one double, scored three runs, and stole five bases over the three contests. With her first three hits in game one, Davis broke a 21 year old school record, getting a hit in 12 consecutive at bats.
The Winter Springs, Florida native currently leads the SSC with a .522 batting average, which is more than .100 points higher than the closest challenger, 60 hits, a .545 on base percentage, and 36 steals. She also ranks second with 30 runs scored, helping to pace an offense that has led the Tars to the top of the SSC standings.
Rollins will look to continue their outstanding 2019 when they host the Flagler Saints in doubleheader action on Wednesday, March 3. The first pitch of game one is set for 5 p.m.
