CULVER CITY, Calif. (April 2, 2019) – Rollins freshman Ashley Worrell has been named Fastpitch News Player of the Week for her efforts in the circle in the Tars' recent contests.

Worrell helped lead Rollins to a doubleheader sweep of the West Georgia Wolves with a no-hit performance. She struck out four in a 6-0 win. The freshman hurler then picked up two Sunshine State Conference wins the following weekend, throwing an eight inning shutout in game one, before picking up the victory in game three. Overall, Worrell went 3-0, with 19 innings of work. The Oviedo, Florida native did not allow an earned run all week and tallied 14 strikeouts.
For the year Worrell leads Rollins in wins, 15, appearances, 19, starts, 18, and innings pitched, 113.0. She has struck out 92 batters, while maintaining a 1.12 ERA.
The Tars return to the field tomorrow, April 3, with a doubleheader against the Flagler Saints. First pitch, from Rollins Softball Stadium, is scheduled for 5 p.m.
