SET-UP:
Rollins is atop the Sunshine State Conference, and riding a 10 game winning streak, as they enter a big week of action.  Rollins will exit the SSC for the final time this season, hosting a doubleheader against Flagler.  The Tars will then turn their attention to a visit from No. 10 Florida Tech, in a battle between two of the top teams in the conference.  Rollins received votes in the NFCA National Poll for the first time last week, and the Tars will look for some marquee wins, as they try to keep climbing.

WHO TO WATCH:
Rollins:
The Tars offense is second in the SSC with a combined .307 batting average.  That number is bolstered by Jordan Davis and her .522 average.  The reigning SSC Player of the Week, the centerfielder leads the conference in batting average, hits, and stolen bases, while pacing the Tars in runs scored.  Lindsay Gehring sits second on the team with a .404 average.  The sophomore catcher leads the squad in homeruns, with seven, RBI, with 31, and slugging, at .702.  Talia Kentoffio and Ashley Worrell are also batting above the .300 mark, providing capable depth in the Rollins lineup.

Worrell doubles as the ace of the Tars' pitching staff.  The freshman has thrown two no-hitters, and was named the Fastpitch News National Player of the Week for her efforts in the circle during the Tars recent winning streak.  She is joined in the rotation by Abby Summers, who leads Rollins with a 1.00 ERA and 128 strikeouts in 83.2 innings.

Flagler:
The Saints are coming off a pair of doubleheader splits, and currently sit fifth in the Peach Belt Conference.  Tatum Morgan leads Flagler in a number of offensive categories.  The junior has registered seven doubles, three homeruns, 14 RBI, and three steals, all tied for team bests, while her .304 average and .464 slugging percentage lead outright.  Garland Evans sits second on the team with a .294 average, slapping seven doubles and two triples.

Kyra Gipson has seen most of the action in the circle for the Saints.  She has earned a 12-6 mark in 24 appearances, 131.2 innings, and 14 complete games.  Katlyn McCue and Alayna Savaglio have also pitched for Flagler.

Florida Tech:
The Panthers took two of three from Palm Beach Atlantic last time out, as they jumped two spots to No. 10 in the newest NFCA Coaches Poll.  Florida Tech has tallied a combined team batting average of .264, fourth highest in the SSC.  Cheyenne Nelson paces the Panther offense with a .330 average, 10 doubles, and four triples.  Vanessa Rubio has registered a .308 average and is tied for the team lead with 22 RBI.  Tina Velazquez Rolon has also driven in 22, on the back eight doubles and four homeruns.  Shanysse Emerenciana leads the squad with a .538 slugging percentage, coming on four doubles, four, triples, and four homeruns.

Melanie Murphy is coming off a First Team All-SSC season in 2018, and has continued her stellar play in the circle into 2019.  The senior is 15-5 in 22 starts, and has held opponents to a .206 batting average against.  She maintains a 1.67 ERA, and has retired 97 batters via the strikeout.  Velazquez Rolon and Jordan Lawlis have also shown consistency in the circle for the Panthers.

UP NEXT:
The Tars will remain at the friendly confines of Rollins Softball Stadium for another SSC series, this time against the Embry-Riddle Eagles.  First pitch of game one is set for Friday, April 12, at 6 p.m.
