WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 12, 2016) - The four-time national champion Rollins water ski teams are set for the 2016 NCWSA Championships, Oct. 13-15 at Imperial Lakes in El Centro, California.

The Tars will be making a 10th-straight trip to the national championship and again competing in Division I. They won titles in 1967 and 1989 before back-to-back championships under head coach Marc Bedsole in 2002 and 2003.

Rollins posted a combined third-place finish at the Eastern Regional, finishing behind winner Alabama and runner-up Florida Southern.

The Tars men won their division by 130 points over Florida Southern and 295 ahead of Alabama. Dorien Llewellyn won the overall title behind a runner-up finish in slalom, third place in tricks and four place in jumps. Josh Briant won tricks, was third in jumps and tied for fifth in slalom to finish runner-up overall.

Rollins women were third, 620 points behind FSC and 865 back of winner Alabama. Chantal Singer led the Tars with a fourth-place overall finish, led by a fourth place in jumps and fifth in slalom. Silvia Zarrate and Alexa Armour were sixth and seventh, respectively.

At the 2015 NCWSA National Championship, the Tars combined for a fifth place finish. The men were fifth and led by Briant's individual runner-up finish, which included a victory in tricks. For the women, Erika Lang was dominating in a second-straight tricks national title, setting a new collegiate record with 5,960 points. She tied for second overall and led the Tars women to a fifth-place finish.

The last time the NCWSA National Championship was at Imperial Lakes was 2013 where Rollins had its best finish since the back-to-back titles, taking fourth place.
