SAN MARCOS, Texas (October 15, 2018) – For the fifth-straight season, Rollins water ski took fifth place at the National Collegiate Water Ski National Championship.
Louisiana-Monroe won the team title by just 60 points over runner-up Louisiana-Lafayette. Alabama was third and Florida Southern fourth.
In the men's division, the Tars finished ninth behind a seventh-place in slalom, fifth-place in tricks and 12th-place in jumps.
Diego Font topped the Tars in slalom, finishing tied for eighth with two buoys at 38' off. He also took eighth in tricks with a score of 3,390. Rafael De Osma was 20th in slalom with three buoys at 35' off while also taking 10th in tricks with a score of 3,270. Alex Berensten finished 34th in slalom and 46th in tricks while Dorien Llewellyn tied for 35th in tricks.
On the women's side, Rollins finished fifth behind fifth place finishes in each discipline.
Alejandra De Osma led the way for the Tars, finishing tied for fifth in the overall competition. The freshman tied for 14th in slalom, took 16th in tricks and finished 11th in jumps. Jenna Morgan took seventh overall by tying for ninth in slalom, finishing 11th in tricks and 23rd in jumps. Emma Morgan was 11th in the overall standings with a T30th finish in slalom, T17th in tricks and 22nd in jumps.
The NCWSA National Championship concludes the Tars fall season.
